I met Barbara on the rose filled walkway alongside the Capitola River. She was busy inserting wires into begonias of all colors to hand them off to the artists constructing the floats that will glide down the river in the 58th Annual Begonia Festival. This is Barb’s eighth year making floats and she invited me to return next year and help out again.
I surely will. And I’ll bring my soul anchor, Ali Lou along with me. There is nothing like being smothered in flowers with your best friend, amidst music, wine and twinkling stars and merry people.
