Working with elementary, middle and the occasional high schooler — Ellen offers a drop-in math clinic on Wednesday afternoons.

For middle schoolers:

I'm truly excited that there is an interest in our community to challenge our children mathematically. I have been put together a program that does just that - teaches math by solving problems. Lots and lots of problems. I think that it's actually fun to solve problems that you don't know how to do, ending up with a better understanding than if someone just told you how to do it from the start.

To complement what your student is learning in class, my goal in holding a math circle is to further foster an appreciation of the subject matter. I plan on concentrating on Prealgebra, as the bridge between Arithmetic and Algebra. I will continue to build on their knowledge, giving them algebraic "tools" along the way.

For both elementary schoolers and middle schoolers:

The math homework club is designed to help local students reach academic success and foster their ability to succeed in school. Different strategies will be introduced until your child finds one that works for them. Homework will be completed with the “why” behind every type of question.
